§ 10-87. Duties and responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The animal control board shall hear and determine such issues and matters as it shall be authorized from time to time by law or by city ordinance, including specifically determination of matters provided in O.C.G.A. § 4-8-24 and other provisions of the state Responsible Dog Ownership Law as now enacted and subsequently amended from time to time.

    (b)

    The board shall have such additional duties, responsibilities and powers as shall be specifically provided from time to time by ordinance adopted by the city commission.

    (c)

    Notwithstanding any other provision to the contrary, the board of commissioners of the city reserves the right to designate the local board of health to conduct the hearings provided by O.C.G.A. § 4-8-24, and to hear and determine all other matters submitted to the board pursuant to the state Responsible Dog Ownership Law (O.C.G.A. § 4-8-20 et seq.).
