§ 107-8. Building official vested with power and authority to act if there is no historic preservation commission.
If appointments have not been made to the historic preservation commission by the mayor and approved by the city commission or if the historic preservation commission does not have a quorum or if, for any reason whatsoever, the historic preservation commission cannot meet to review proposed changes to historic property and then issue a certificate of appropriateness, if warranted and as required by section 107-5, the building official shall be vested with all the powers and authority of the historic preservation commission as are authorized and mandated by this chapter.
